We understand that stopping smoking can be overwhelming when you’re pregnant, but we’re here to support you. Protecting your baby from tobacco smoke is one of the best ways to give them a healthy start in life, and we can help you do that.
SmokeFree Hull offer FREE advice and support for pregnant women looking to start their stop-smoking journey. Our experienced Smoking in Pregnancy Advisors offer up to a 12-week program to pregnant women living in Hull.
Whether it’s for your own health, for your baby, to save money, or something else, you're 3 times more likely to succeed if you get support from our service.
How we can help you
- Expert one-on-one support to find the best way to stop smoking for you
- Free stop smoking aids like nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges
- Advice on coping with cravings, exercises to try and how to cope with stress
- Someone to encourage and cheer you on judgement-free.
We offer support over the phone, and face to face appointments in venues around the city, including Hull Women’s and Children’s hospital to make these appointments as easy as possible for you, in addition to an online webchat service for flexibility.
Your first appointment will either be face to face or over the phone, where we will assess your reasons behind smoking and advise you on the best way to stop.
We can also support family members stopping smoking too, to help make your home a smokefree zone.

Free NHS lung health checks are also available for people who live in Hull aged from 55 to less than 75, who smoke or used to smoke and have a Hull GP.
Run by specially-trained nurses, a lung health check can reassure you that your lungs are healthy or help find problems early – often before you notice anything is wrong.
If lung cancer, or another problem with your breathing or lungs, is found early, treatment could be simpler and more successful.
